Rugby Championship 2017
Australia vs New Zealand
Date: Friday, August 25, 2017
Venue: Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin
Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium is the scene for Bledisloe II on Saturday, when the All Blacks will hunt the complete performance in locking away the trophy for another year. It’s likely to take far less than that given the Wallabies’ woeful defensive display in Sydney last week, yet still New Zealand hunt perfection knowing they’ve been outscored in the final quarter of each of their past three Tests.
Prop Owen Franks has been ruled out of the clash with Australia just hours after being named to start the game in Dunedin.
Nepo Laulala will come into the starting side alongside hooker Dane Coles, who is making his return to the All Blacks side after battling injury for much of the year.
Jeffrey Toomaga-Allen, who played one Test off the bench in 2013, has been brought into the squad as cover.
The 30-year-old Coles has not played a Test match since last November. He missed last week’s 54-34 victory over the Wallabies in Sydney after sustaining another head knock in a warm-up game.
